Washington County Community College Library presents The World in Your Library, a foreign policy speaking series, which will host a talk by Libby Bischof, Professor of History from the University of Southern Maine. Bischof's focus for the talk is the visual history of Maine as presented by postcards.
A nineteenth-century American cultural historian, Bischof specializes in the history of photography with a particular interest in the study of Maine. Her work explores American society through the lens of history and that of the camera. The lecture, held in the library, is free and open to the public, and was brought to our community through a partnership of the Maine Humanities Council, the Margaret Chase Smith Foundation, and the WCCC Library.
