Marine biologist Laurie Murison, Executive Director of the Grand Manan Whale & Seabird Research Station was one of the first researchers in Canada to study the critically endangered North Atlantic Right Whale. "Familial relationships among right whales are much better known now thanks to a huge genetic project that has been ongoing since the 1980s, combined with photo-id work that has been conducted throughout their known range. Much, however, still remains to be discovered. A description of some right whale families and how our use of the ocean affects them will be presented." Visit www.gmwsrs.org for more information on the research station. ADMISSION BY DONATION
