Throughout July and August, Downeast Lakes Land Trust offers free, educational activities and lessons for children ages 10-16. Thursdays, from 9:30 am – 12 pm, bring the kids to the Grand Lake Stream School Building ready for outdoor activities, rain or shine! Each week features a specific topic that builds appreciation and awareness of the natural history of the Downeast Lakes region.Find out more »
All Eastern European countries have at least some tradition of music and dance, usually celebrated by a Sunday Afternoon “Hora” (or dance) in the town square. Come learn these dances to exciting Greek, Romanian, Bulgarian and Israeli music. Everyone, including beginners, is welcome to come and explore this great tradition. By donation. Learn about the current research on Kent Island and Patty’s research on local bee diversity, the remarkable learning and social learning abilities of bumblebees, and the consequences of such abilities for plant pollination.
