Escape the creative confines of a highly structured art class and participate in a unique course where each student is taught in the media and style of their own choosing. During this course, you will be encouraged to bring ideas that mean something to you. This course will introduce the student to a variety of watercolour techniques using flowers, fruit and vegetables for subject matter. Through demonstrations and discussions learn the wonderful versatility of watercolour while exploring the natural world. Michael is reserving summer in Lubec, Maine, to offer en plein air workshops. Both oil and pastel are welcome, and every level of student, from beginner to advanced, will benefit from his classes. Occasionally, he will offer a special week for mentoring intermediate to advanced students. This is noted on the schedule. As part of the “Grand Lake Stream America” festivities, DLLT is pleased to host the annual “Race For Grand Lake Stream.” This 3-mile road race begins at Big Lake landing, and follows tree-lined Water Street back to the village of Grand Lake Stream. Registration will take place on the DLLT lawn from 8-8:45 am, and a bus will transport runners to the starting line for a 9 am start time. The cost is $12, and all registrants will receive a t-shirt. Story Time with Sue Carroll Duffy. Dr. Duffy reads her newly released book, "Finding Diamonds." After the reading, children and their parents will be invited to go on their own hunt for natural treasures. Books will be available for purchase and signing. This event will also be held on Tuesday, July 3 @ 2 p.m., and Thursday, July 5 @ 1 p.m., come to one or all.Find out more »
