Learn to tell a story in a painting – then tell the story. Beginners to experts – this is a different way of thinking and musing. Course paintings will be acrylic on canvas. Eastport Arts Center’s Children’s Theater Workshop (CTW) will present their Macbeth on Friday, June 8 at 7 pm and Sunday, June 10 at 12:30 pm. The production is an abridgment of the play, but retains Shakespeare’s language, and in keeping of the Scottish play’s tradition, is rife with treachery, insanity and bloodshed. The group has modified and updated their version of the tragedy by adding two narrators, who act as guides and interpreters for the audience. “The members of the CTW chose the play by secret ballot,” said Jon Calame, who has worked with the group alongside EAC Island Institute Fellow Tarah Waters. “We are an experimental theater troupe and we feel sure that the world has never seen a Macbeth like this one.”
