The Eastport Arts Center’s KinderArts program will feature Tiny Yogis sessions on Thursdays, April 26 through May 10, from 9:30-10:15 am. Instructor Caroline Coleman Dilio will teach yoga through music, dance and storybooks, and young participants will even learn meditation. Some yoga mats will be available but please bring yours along if you own one. These free classes are intended for children up to age 5; participants must come with a parent or caregiver. Following the Tiny Yogis series, KinderArts sessions will continue each Thursday through the end of May with leader Tarah Waters.

Eastport Arts Center’s International Dance group will hail the new year with the addition of a second weekly meeting, and starting January 2 will meet both Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6 pm at the center. The group is open to everyone, including beginners, and features traditional dance from Bulgaria, Romania, Greece and Israel.

On Thursday, April 26th, Downeast Lakes Land Trust is pleased to welcome back retired Maine game warden John Ford as he presents his latest book, “Deer Diaries: Tales of a Maine Game Warden.” “Deer Diaries” is Ford’s third book, recalling the many experiences and adventures he experienced on the job. Written in short story format, John is a very entertaining storyteller with a flair for Downeast humor.

The Spitfire Grill

A feisty parolee follows her dreams to sleepy Gilead, Wisconsin, and finds a place for herself working at Hannah’s Spitfire Grill. The diner is for sale but with no offers on the table, Hannah decides to raffle it off. Whoever submits $100 and the most compelling essay will win the grill. Soon, mail is arriving by the barrel and things are definitely cookin’ at the Spitfire Grill. Music and book by James Valcq, lyrics and book by Fred Alley, based on the film by Lee David Zlotoff.
