Join us for a workshop that will help businesses understand the importance of the growing tourism industry, both in Maine and specifically in the Down East region, provide tips and tools for how businesses can become more tourism friendly and highlight local businesses who go above and beyond to enhance the DownEast experience for visitors and Mainers.
Instructors: Ruth Cash-Smith is a Women’s Business Advisor at CEI. For the past ten years, she has provided free and confidential business advising for Washington County residents who wish to start, grow or expand businesses. In addition, she offers training on a full range of business issues, facilitates access to financing, and establishes networking opportunities.
Jen Peters, SCEC Assistant Director, is the Maine Woods Tourism Training Initiative Washington County Lead.
Crystal Hitchings is Regional Planner with the Washington County Council of Governments, where she coordinates regional tourism programs including the Bold Coast Scenic Bikeway and DownEast Acadia Regional Tourism.
